At this point, anyone who chooses to may defend the accused and the accused then has the right to defend him or herself and explain why there is no way that he or she could possibly be part of the Mafia. This can take place in a trial-like setting, where the accused talks about a fictional alibi and often accuses other players in his or her stead.
Have a vote. The narrator now asks who thinks that the accused is guilty and a vote is taken. The voting process may or may not be anonymous. Apply the verdict. If a majority of the voting players vote guilty, the accused is now out of play. The accused may simply state whether or not they are in the mafia. If there is not a majority vote of guilty, the accusations begin again. The day round continues until someone has been declared guilty and removed from the game, and the night round begins again.
How to play Mafia — great team building mini-game. Now, all eyes open. The narrator tells a creative story of the murder that took place last night. If the doctor saved the right person, they say the person was saved. If not, that person has a dramatic death scene. Now the youth get to accuse people and try to plead their innocence. Eventually leader helps figure out who they think is guilty and puts the person up for trial.
By a show of hands, see if a majority think that person is mafia. If so, and they are not mafia they die. If they are mafia, the town wins. The game continues with murder after murder until any and all mafia are caught, or all the villagers are dead.
We play this one on trips or when needing a something to do moment with our youth group, only thing we change is we use a deck of cards and have one card for each person in the circle. The A is the killer, the K is the sheriff, the Q is the nurse and if we have a lot of kids, we use the joker who can be anything they want kill, accuse, or save Be warned, this game is about the ability to deceive.
For those youth groups where they have banned games such as cheat because they encourage deception this game should be on the same list. When a player is killed, they are no longer allowed to speak and their identity is not revealed. Second Night : All players' eyes are closed and the narrator awakens the mafia and asks who they want to kill. She then awakens the doctor for the first time and asks who they want to save. And then, she awakens the detective and asks who they want to know about.
Third Day : The narrator awakens all players and someone has been killed, unless the doctor has figured out who the mafia had their sights on and saved this player. The game continues in these phases, day and night, day and night, until civilians kill all mafia members or mafia outnumber civilians. This award winner is a rummy style card game with a twist.
