I just bought the gold edition which included the expansion pack all on one cd and once it downloaded it required a patch. But when I try to download the patch it keeps saying failed to download try again later. Now I already have both of them when they first came out but I bought this one for my brother so we can play together.

That which can be asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence. I also had issues with patching the Gold Edition here is what worked for me. First when installing for the second time grrr, just let the game auto start without hitting anything.
The game will start automatically after the install finishes up so you can see what version you have. The Gold Edition is version 2. When you click multiplayer it will try and auto patch but it never worked so you need to manually download the patches. Around the middle of the page you will see the two patches you will need to download.
Should also be noted if you have Game of the Year Edition, or Opposing Fronts all of those patches you can find here also. Download both of these patches to you desktop.
After they are both downloaded double click the first patch 2. Do the same for the next patch to get your game patched to the final version 2. After patching the game will allow you to set up a relic account to play online etc.

As I previously mentioned I got this game for my brother so we can play but either connection will timeout or that nat error pops up. Im guessing we have to install all the patches I have or we cant play on the same internet line. Its always something else and im sure everyone can understand computer frusturation.
